Books That You Hated At First | John Green, Jane Austen & More
Sometimes they start slow, sometimes disappointing. But one thing all the books in this episode have in common is that when we started to read them, we didn't love them.
What do John Green, Jane Austen, and a few others have in common? Well, when we picked up their books, we weren't always in love. As usual, Megan and Marissa start off by discussing their most recent reads: Megan discusses a finished book of hers, Yume by Sifton Tracey Anipare, and Marissa (for the first time ever since starting this podcast) has no new books to report.
From there, we dive into the topic of the week: What book did you hate at first, but end up loving? Marissa discusses Villette by Charlotte Brontë, The Alienist by Caleb Carr, and Paper Towns by John Green. Megan takes her time to discuss Emma by Jane Austen, The High Tide Club by Mary Kay Andrews, and Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff.
From there, we discuss our upcoming reads and announce our next podcast topic.
